Application

Note: The Summer Session Only application deadline for the 8-week session was June 6, 2008. Please join our mailing list to receive information about next year’s summer session when it becomes available later this fall.

The Summer Session Only application is intended for visiting students who want to enroll in undergraduate courses at UIC during summer session but who do not plan to pursue a degree at UIC or continue in the fall semester. Please check to see if you are eligible to attend summer session. If you are not sure whether this is the right application for you, take a look at who attends the UIC Summer Session.

If you are currently enrolled at UIC but not yet graduating and you want to take summer courses, you do not need to apply to attend summer session. However, if you will be graduating prior to summer session and you would like to take undergraduate courses at UIC over the summer, you will need to apply as a Summer Session Only student.

Application Fee and Documentation

There is NO APPLICATION FEE for the Summer Session Only application.

You are not required to submit high school and/or college transcripts with your Summer Session Only application. Note: If you check the status of your Summer Session Only application online, the system may indicate that you need to provide transcripts, but it is not necessary to do so.

If you are an international applicant, please review the special eligibility guidelines for international applicants for information about what documentation you will need to submit as part of your application.

If you are a Permanent Resident and you believe that you are eligible for Illinois resident tuition rates, please submit a copy of your permanent resident card to the Office of Admissions. You can fax it to: (312) 413-7628 or to (312) 996-2953, Attention: Special Projects/Summer Session Only. If you prefer to mail it, send it to: University of Illinois at Chicago Office of Admissions and Records (MC 018), Box 6020, Chicago, IL 60680-6020, Attention: Special Projects/Summer Session Only.

Application Processing

After you submit your Summer Session Only application, you should receive a decision letter approximately two weeks after applying.

Applicants who are admitted for the 2008 Summer Session will be mailed registration instructions with their decision letter. You can also review the registration instructions online. Because you must be admitted before you can register for courses, we encourage you to apply early.

You can check the status of your application by logging in to the online application with the Login ID and PIN that you created when you completed your application. Please note that if you check your application status online, the system may indicate that you need to provide high school and/or college transcripts. However, Summer Session Only applicants are not required to provide these transcripts.

While the Summer Session Office does not process the applications, we can answer questions about the process itself or check on the status of your application. So don't hesitate to call us at (312) 996-9099, or if you're outside of the Chicago area, at (800) 625-2013. We are here to take your suggestions, answer any questions you may have, and help you with any problems you might encounter.
