Advanced Writing and Grammar Workshop

Writing clearly and accurately is an essential skill for academic and professional success. Making grammar errors in professional and academic writing can be a concern for non-native English speakers despite many years of studying.

Learning how to produce concise, clear and error-free writing is the focus of this 6-week workshop. Explanation and review of grammar concepts will be combined with proofreading and independent writing tasks. This workshop is designed for high-intermediate to advanced level non-native English speakers.

  • Review grammar concepts that most frequently cause errors in non-native speaker writing
  • Identify and correct grammar errors in writing through editing and proofreading practice
  • Learn the organization of business correspondence, résumés, abstracts, process and simple academic reports
  • Learn techniques to write for maximum clarity and effectiveness
  • Create a 'checklist' of your most frequent grammar errors for more effective self-monitoring and correction
