New US SEVIS Fee
On September 1, 2004, a new rule from the US Department of Homeland Security became effective: people who want an F-1 visa must pay a one-time fee of $100. This fee helps pay for the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS), the system that US schools use to make I-20 forms. This US SEVIS fee is separate from any fee that your consulate or embassy may require for your visa application.
Details and instructions for the new US SEVIS fee are included with every I-20 issued by the Tutorium.
