Advanced
Pronunciation II: Pronunciation Applications
Please note: The Advanced Pronunciation
and Communication Skills course is a pre-requisite for Advanced
Pronunciation II.
This
course builds on the pronunciation techniques learned in
our Advanced Pronunciation and Communication Skills course.
The course focuses on developing an effective public and
personal speaking style in the context of American social,
business, and academic contexts.
Essential
pronunciation concepts are reviewed and reinforced through
more extended and open speaking tasks. Participants also
discuss strategies and practice techniques that make communicating
information and opinions more effective. This course helps
participants feel more comfortable and confident in social
and public speaking situations.
- Learn strategies for effective personal, social, and
work-based communication
- Review and practice key pronunciation concepts essential
for effective communication
- Practice techniques for monitoring and controlling rate,
volume, tone and register
- Learn to organize and deliver complex information
- Practice and receive feedback on short and extended
presentations in a variety of American cultural contexts
- Build confidence in impromptu speaking situations
- Receive video and audio evaluations from experienced
instructors in small classes
