Janet Ohene-Frempong, M.S.
Janet Ohene-Frempong, President of J. O. Frempong & Associates, specializes in plain language and cross-cultural consumer communications. Formerly Director of the Health Literacy Project at the Health Promotion Council of Southeastern Pennsylvania, she has over 25 years of experience in patient/provider communications. She will be addressing communicating effectively with African Americans in clinical settings.
Nilda Chong, MD, DrPH, MPH
Dr. Chong has more than twenty years of experience in training providers in the delivery of care to culturally diverse populations. She is the author of the book, The Latino Patient: A Cultural Guide for Health Care Providers. Dr. Chong’s experience includes international work as a consultant and trainer of trainers with the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization, and national level positions with the Ministry of Health in Panama. She will be addressing cultural competence with the Latino population.
