What We Do
The Wellness Center provides accurate and relevant health and wellness information, educational programs, and knowledge and skill-building activities to the UIC community to encourage students, staff, and faculty to make healthy choices that integrate knowledge and understanding with their own personal values and a sense of community responsibility.
Mission
The Mission of the Wellness Center is to support student
learning, academic success and retention by providing wellness services
that promote healthy attitudes and behaviors, empower students to make informed
choices, and enhance holistic wellbeing.
What is Wellness?
Wellness is more than the absence of illness. Wellness
is a dynamic process that encompasses 8 dimensions; each important for overall
wellness. The Center philosophy is to address wellness holistically, embracing
these 8 dimensions of well-being.
The eight dimensions of wellness are: intellectual, social, spiritual, occupational,
physical, sexual, environmental, and emotional and the interaction among
them.

Directions to the office:
The Wellness Center is located on the 2nd floor of the "South" section of the Student Center East (formerly CCC), over the bowling alley and behind Burrito Bravo.
Entering via Halsted Street side (east), you would take a left once inside the building. Take the elevator (just before the bowling alley entrance) up one level to the 2nd floor then walk straight through the inner circle food court past Burrito Bravo. Once through the second set of doors make a left.
Entering via the Lecture Center side (west), you would take a right once inside the building. Take the stairs up one level to the second floor.
