Wellness Workshops:
"This Round's on Us"
"This Round's On Us" focuses on ways to be responsible
with alcohol. At this interactive workshop, you will discuss
the role that alcohol plays in the lives of UIC students, discover
the truth about alcohol myths, and learn about the consequences
of alcohol use, misuse and abuse. Do you think you still have
good judgment after a few drinks? Look through our "booza-vision"
goggles and guess again! This is a fun yet informing workshop
that engages an audience while also educating them.
"Cover Your Lover"
Find out why oil is a no-no. Learn how whip crème could
be costly. Did you know that condoms are not just for men anymore
and that sexually transmitted infections (STI's) can be transmitted
orally as well? If not, come learn about the latest in birth
control, STI's and protection. Cover Your Lover is a wellness
workshop that provides answers to your sexual wellness questions
including relationships, contraception, abstinence, and STI's.
"Stress: The Eye of the Storm"
The train delay the morning of your exam, computer problems
the night before a big paper is due, the roommates who expect
you to clean up after them… we all deal with stress every day.
Join us for this workshop and learn to identify stress and its
effects, and discuss stress management tips and relaxation techniques
which will help you throughout the school year.
"Fit for Life"
Not sure if you should eat a high-fat/low-carbohydrate diet!
What exactly is a serving size? Can 20 minutes change your life?
Having trouble sorting through dieting myths, making healthy
food choices, and motivating yourself? This workshop can help
you make the choices that are right for you!
