GWS is an interdisciplinary department founded on the notion that students learn by doing and engaging the world. So, we combine classroom work with experiential learning and civic engagement. Many of our students and faculty are involved in public policy work and social justice and arts initiatives that relate to gender justice, women's well being and human rights and feminist ideals.
