About Lauren Robinson

Lauren Robinson is Associate General Counsel and Interim Ethics Officer of the American Bar Association. She counsels staff on issues involving corporate law, intellectual property law and employment law and monitors staff compliance with its business code of conduct.

Prior to joining the ABA, Ms. Robinson was Vice President, Programs at Chicago Community Ventures, a non-profit that provides financing and consulting primarily to businesses in low to moderate income communities or businesses owned by people of color or women. Ms. Robinson joined CCV after rising to the partnership of the law firm of Schiff Hardin, LLP where she represented private and public companies and non-profits on mergers, acquisitions, dispositions and financings and advised them on corporate governance matters. Her transactional experience also includes real estate, zoning and affordable housing development transactions.

Ms. Robinson is Secretary and Chair of the Nominating Committee of Umoja Student Development Corporation, which cultivates leadership and academic skills in Chicago public high school students.

She is passionate about urban policy issues including small business development, education, affordable housing and youth development and mentoring. Her interests include art collecting, foreign and independent film, literature, tennis and running.

Ms. Robinson is a graduate of New York University School of Law, New York University Graduate School of Public Service and Vassar College.
