GWS Graduate Award
The Gender and Women's Studies Graduate Prize is awarded annually to one outstanding GWS graduate concentrator in recognition of the student's commitment to interdisciplinary scholarship in Gender and Women's Studies.

UIC Funding Opportunities

UIC Graduate College Fellowship Office
This office is open all UIC graduate students applying for internal fellowships, external fellowships, or just looking for general graduate funding.

U of I Graduate Awards
Graduate students at UIC are eligible to apply for a number of awards provided for students just at UIC as well as students enrolled in the University of Illinois system. These awards are as follows – click the name of the award for further information.

Graduate Funding Seminars
Graduate funding can come from many different sources, based on many different criteria, including: field of study, gender, ethnicity, home state, home country, religion, sexual orientation, veteran's status or parental status.UIC's Graduate College offers seminars to learn how to find graduate funding is online.

Graduate Student Travel Awards
Graduate College Student Travel Awards are intended to help defray the travel expenses of graduate students who are presenters of research or scholarly work at a meeting of a nationally-recognized scientific or scholarly society.

Outside Awards, Scholarships and Funding

AAUW Educational Foundation Fellowships and Grants
Awards for doctoral candidates, women making career changes/advancement, and seed money for educational equity projects benefiting women and girls.

Fellowships and Awards (The Ada Project)
The Ada Project focuses on women in computer science, so most but not all of the fellowships and awards listed here are directed at women in science and technology.

NWSA Awards and Scholarships
Awards for lesbian studies, Jewish women's studies, and for women of color.

FreSch: Free Scholarship Information Service

Lots of information about sources of financial aid and strategies for obtaining it. Includes a searchable database of scholarships; one search category is gender.

Scholarships, Fellowships, & Postdoctoral Awards for Women
Large, well-organized site with a searchable database. In addition to a section for women, there are sections devoted to subject areas such as Computer Sciences & Engineering and sections for specific racial/ethnic groups such as African Americans, Ethnic Groups & Studies, Hispanic Americans, Minorities, Native Americans, as well as a host of other sections.

Soroptimist Women's Opportunity Awards
Awards to assist women entering or re-entering the workforce in obtaining the education and skills training they need to improve their employment status. Applicants must be female heads of household who are enrolled in or have been accepted to a vocational/skills training program or an undergraduate degree program. Recipients may use their awards for any expenses related to their educational pursuits, such as tuition, books, housing, child care, and transportation.

Financial Aid for Women in IT
In spite of the title, the listing covers many sources of aid for women regardless of field. It covers both undergraduate and graduate education.
