What type of resource materials do you
have at the center?
The collection includes books, periodicals, DVDs, CDs, activity boxes,
discovery packs, and computer software. Our children's books include hardcover,
board books, theme libraries, and big books for loan. See Catalog here.
Who can use these resources?
Parents, students, teachers, or anyone in the community interested in early
childhood materials.
How do you check out materials?
You can apply for a library resource card to check out materials. A photo
I.D. is required when applying for a card. Cards are issued for a one-year
period and can be renewed annually. You must apply for the card at the
center. Click here for the

Is there a charge to use the resource center?
There is no charge associated with any of the services provided by the
center. Support for our program is provided by the United States Department
of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children, Youth and
Families. The center is a collaborative effort between the Chicago Department
of Family and Support Services, University
of Illinois at Chicago
Center for Literacy and City Colleges
of Chicago.
Can people create material for classrooms or home use?
The center does have a workspace area which includes a laminator, die-cut
machines, bookbinder, poster printer, and other tools that can be used to
create items for educational use.
Who do I call to schedule a meeting or training?
You can call the Center at 312.733.3134 and the staff can assist you with
your next meeting at the resource center. You can also view our meeting Calendar to check for available dates then
download the Meeting Request Form. The form can be
emailed or faxed to CCEE.
Can someone help me with the computer?
Yes! The staff are available to assist new
technology users with Internet access and use of word processing
applications.
When is the Center open?
CCEE is currently open Monday from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm; Tuesday and Thursday
from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm; Wednesday from 9:00 am to Noon; Friday from 9:00 am
to 4:00 pm; 1st, 3rd, 5th Saturday of each month from 9:00 am to 12 noon.
