Conference Presentations

Bill Teale, Jessica Hoffman, Junko Yokota, Jennifer Garrette, Samantha Richardson, and Katie Paciga presented a talk entitled “What We Read Aloud to Young Children Makes a Difference: Book Features and Their Consequences" at the International Reading Association Convention in May 2009. Their ideas about reading aloud as an instructional activity drew heavily on insights from UIC-ERF classrooms.

Jennifer Garrette and Samantha Richardson presented a talk entitled “Technology Matters - But What Does it Take to Make it Matter?” at the International Reading Association Convention in May 2009. Their ideas for appropriate and engaging uses of technology drew in part from their work in UIC-ERF classrooms.
