Saturday College (con't)
Saturday college mathematics exposes the students to a variety of ways
to experience math. Math classes include: pre algebra, algebra, geometry and trigonometry.
Saturday College students have a variety of science classes from which
to choose. Classes include biology, chemistry, physics, and anatomy.
The language arts program for Saturday College focuses on a variety of
topics. Students are engaged in literature, vocabulary, grammar, and writing workshops
throughout the year. The writing skills are fine-tuned so our students are able to express
themselves fluently and with clarity.
Implemented in 1999, Saturday College students who are juniors in high
school were involved in a year long preparation for the SAT exam. The intense preparation
for this exam was designed to strengthen our student's confidence and ensure their
success. It is now a part of the student's curriculum.
Concurrent with the academic year, the Saturday College Parent Network
produces a series of workshops relevant to the concerns of Saturday College parents,
including the selection of the proper high school curriculum. Other workshops include the
high school and college application process, funding private education and financial
planning. Parents are involved in fundraising for scholarships awarded to high school
seniors. Parent meetings are the first Saturday of every month.

preparation for college and the knowledge that in 1999, 100% of the students in the
Saturday College Senior Component were accepted to universities across the country.
- Good candidates for the Saturday College Program are those
students who:
- will make a commitment to work hard and attend the program regularly
- will enroll in college prep programs at their high schools
- can count on their parent/guardians to be active in the Parent Network
- are at or above grade level on...
