She attended Columbia College where she received her Liberal Arts Bachelors degree in Theater/Speech and also attended Northwestern's prestigious Film Department while working on a MFA.

Diane has worked with the young Latinos of Chicago as an Instructor/Counselor at Latino Youth Alternative High School for twelve years.

She is currently working for the University of Illinois at Chicago Early Outreach Department committed to the further achievement of Latino students through the HMSEI.

She is a poet, pool player and is pursuing a PhD, in education at UIC.
