The Office of the Chancellor and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research are pleased to announce the FY2012 Chancellor's Discovery Fund for Multidisciplinary Research competition. This grant program is intended to support up to five new collaborations led by emerging researchers at UIC. Both non-tenure track and senior-level faculty may participate as principal investigators. This year's competition includes an incentive to encourage new interdisciplinary collaborations involving the humanities.
The purpose of this program is to foster academic inquiry drawing on the expertise of different disciplines, nurture the research career trajectories of promising early stage investigators and help awardees leverage extramural funding.
The Chancellor's Discovery Fund will award up to $30,000 over a two-year period or up to $40,000 if at least one principal investigator is from a Humanities discipline. An additional $10,000 in funding is available for non-humanities projects if the application includes a one-to-one cash cost share from department or college sources.
