  • Illinois IT Accessibility Act (IITAA) Non-Technical Overview

The Illinois Information Technology Accessibility Act (IITAA) will be in effect on August 20, 2008 and UIC is required to comply. The IITAA requires Illinois agencies and universities to ensure that their websites, systems, and other information technologies are accessible to people with disabilities. Do you know how the Act impacts you and your department?

To find out, please come to an hour informational overview of the IITAA on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm in BGRC, Room 105B.  This is a non-technical overview of the IITAA for those who are interested in knowing more about the legislative impact on the campus.

  • Illinois IT Accessibility Act Technical Guidelines Training

This training is for Web developers who will be making their sites compliant with the Illinois Information Technology Accessibility Act. The training will be focused on the guidelines and the techniques, tools and tips for developing accessible IITAA compliant Web sites. This is the same session repeated three times. Please Register for the session off the ACCC's Computer Class Registration Web Site (named Illinois IT Accessibility Act) starting June 16th

Web Accessibility training is sponsored by the ACCC Instructional Technology Lab, the Disability Resource Center and the Web Accessibility Committee.  

The workshops are designed for UIC faculty and staff, and are available at no charge.
