The Honors College is celebrating its 30th Anniversary!

The Honors College is turning 30! Help us celebrate this milestone by attending one of the many events during the 2012-2013 Academic Year. All James Scholars, Honors alumni, faculty, staff, and friends are invited to attend events throughout our anniversary year. You can view the schedule of events, and print a copy of the calendar.

Class of 2000 Honors College and CBA graduate Kevin Desouza, along with his wife Sally, have generously established an endowment that will fund the Sally and Kevin Desouza Family Scholarship for business students in the Honors College. Read their story here.

Honors College Community Lecture Series: "Guess What Is Chess?"

Dr. Ekaterina Pirozhenko, Post-Doctoral Fellow in teaching and mentoring in the Honors College, will give a talk entitled "Guess What Is Chess?" on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 6:00 pm in Burnham Hall Room 121.

This is the inaugural lecture for the Honors College Community Lecture Series, which opens the Honors College to the surrounding neighborhood, and provides a forum for alumni, friends, students, and community members to interact.

In this talk-discussion, we will problematize the image of chess in our culture and discuss social values and norms that are projected on this game.

Honors College Alumni Association

Meet the Class of 2016!

Join members of the Honors College Alumni Association (HCAA) in welcoming freshmen to campus be attending a pizza party for first-year students on September 18, 2012 from 4:30 pm-6:30 pm. The first quarterly HCAA meeting will be held immediately afterwards from 6:30-7:30 pm. Both events take place in Burnham Hall, 828 S. Halsted St., Chicago, IL 60607.

The Honors College Alumni Association meets approximately 4 times per year, and provides oversight on alumni issues, programming and support to current students. In addition, members help to coordinate alumni involvement in college events such as the annual ball and admissions interviews.
