CONTINUING STUDENT APPLICATION PROCESS
Eligibility
If you are already a student at UIC and you are interested in joining the UIC Honors college please follow these steps to join. To be eligible you must have a cumulative UIC GPA of 3.4/4.0 and at least three semesters left until graduation.
Applying
You can apply to the Honors College in two ways. You can apply online or download a paper copy of the application. The application and any attachments should be mailed directly to the Honors College.
Spring 2012 Honors College transfer applications will be accepted until January 1, 2012.
For your application to be complete you will need to submit the following:
1. You must be a currently enrolled UIC student.
2. Complete the online Honors College application (preferred) for currently enrolled students or download and print a paper application instead
3. Two short essays of approximately 500 words:
Essay 1: Describe your academic and career plans
Essay 2: The Honors College is a community of scholars whose goal is to enrich the educational experience of undergraduates and allow faculty and students of all disciplines to interact in teaching, learning and research. What scholarly attributes will you bring to this community? What do you expect in return?
4. Summarize your resume listing your extracurricular and community activities, work experiences, volunteer service, and hobbies. Please include any leadership roles or other accomplishments. You may also included scholastic prizes, awards or honors you have received, as well as special academic programs, such as summer enrichment or study abroad, in which you have participated. This can be included in the on-line application
DEADLINE: January 1, 2012
We prefer you use the online application, however you can download and print a paper version.
