CONTINUING STUDENT

Eligibility

If you are already a student at UIC and you are interested in joining the UIC Honors college please follow these steps to join. To be eligible you must have a cumulative GPA of 3.4/4.0 and at least three semesters left until graduation.

Applying

You can apply to the Honors College in two ways.  You can apply online or you can also call or stop by the Honors College to pick up a hard copy of the application.  The application and any attachments should be mailed directly to the Honors College. 

Spring 2009 Honors College applications from current UIC students will be accepted until January 1, 2009.

For your application to be complete you will need to submit the following:

  1. The Honors College application for currently enrolled UIC students
  2. Two short essays of approximately 250 words:
    Essay 1: Describe your academic and career plans

    Essay 2: The Honors College is a community of scholars whose goal is to enrich the educational experience of undergraduates and allow faculty and students of all disciplines to interact in teaching, learning and research.
    What scholarly attributes will you bring to this community?
    What do you expect in return?

    Note: The application deadline for Spring 2009 is January 1, 2009.
