TRANSFER APPLICATION PROCESS
Eligibility
If you will be entering UIC from another college or university where you have earned 24 credit hours or more, have earned at least a 3.4 GPA, and will attend UIC for at least three semesters, then you are eligible to apply to the Honors College.
Applying
You can apply to the Honors College in two ways. You can apply online or download a paper copy of the application. The application and any attachments should be mailed directly to the Honors College.
Spring 2010 Honors College transfer applications will be accepted until December 1, 2009.
For your application to be complete you will need to submit the following:
1.Apply to UIC (Note: UIC has an earlier application deadline)
2. Complete the online Honors College application for transfer students
3. Two short essays of approximately 500 words:
Essay 1: Describe your academic and career plans
Essay 2: The Honors College is a community of scholars whose goal is to enrich the educational experience of undergraduates and allow faculty and students of all disciplines to interact in teaching, learning and research. What scholarly attributes will you bring to this community? What do you expect in return?
4. Summarize your resume listing your extracurricular and community activities, work experiences, volunteer service, and hobbies. Please include any leadership roles or other accomplishments. You may also included scholastic prizes, awards or honors you have received, as well as special academic programs, such as summer enrichment or study abroad, in which you have participated. You can do this within the on-line application.
DEADLINE: December 1, 2009
We prefer you use the online application, however you can download and print a paper version.
