SEMINAR PROPOSAL
Teaching an honors seminar is an opportunity to share a favorite topic with a small class of Honors College students in a one-hour-per-week meeting. Honors seminars reflect a wide range of research and teaching interests among UIC faculty. Faculty from almost every UIC college have enjoyed teaching our students in a seminar, several more than once. A historical list is available for your reference here.
If you are interested in teaching a seminar please use the Seminar Proposal form - (PDF) or (WORD) - whether you have taught the seminar in the past or if it is a new topic. Proposals (simply a description of the topic, a distribution of subtopics adding up to the 15 50-minute periods the seminar would meet during the semester, and a list of texts) should be emailed to Assistant to the Dean Eliza Ycas at eycas@uic.edu or to Associate Dean Hui-Ching Chang at huiching@uic. Proposals can also be sent to their attention by fax (312) 413-1266 or through campus mail to the Honors College, M/C 204. The deadline for Fall 2011 is January 1, 2011; for Spring 2012, the deadline is September 15, 2011.
