Faculty Advisors

One of the biggest benefits of membership in the Honors College is access to mentoring by UIC faculty. At the end of freshman year, you will be assigned a fellow - a faculty member in your field. You can expect your faculty fellow to serve as an honors adviser, as well as a career mentor.

Fellows also encourage and act as advisers regarding participation in departmental honors programs. Your fellow can guide you in important directions - they know the career outlook in their fields, the resources of their departments, and the procedures for preparing for graduate study.

Academic Resources

As a member of the Honors College, you will benefit from personalized advising.  With a low student-to-advisor ratio, you can build one-on-one relationshipswith faculty and professional advising staff.
