Receiving Healthcare Using your CampusCare Benefits - FAQ

1. What should I do if I need to see a physician?

Students and enrolled dependents can make an appointment with any CampusCare Health Center Physician at the locations listed on our Locate Physicians without a referral. Please remember, covered services must be provided or authorized by a CampusCare Health Center Physician unless they meet the Life Threatening Emergency and After Hours Guidelines or preauthorized by the CampusCare Medical Director or designee. For additional information about benefits, limitations, and exclusions refer to the Certificate of Coverage.

 

2. Can I go to any physician or hospital I choose?

No. Students and enrolled dependents must make an appointment with any CampusCare Health Center Physician at the locations listed on our Locate Physicians. Your CampusCare Health Center Physician will coordinate all of your care and provide a referral to an out-of-network physician or specialist when necessary.

3. What do I do if I have a severe or life threatening medical emergency?

If you have a severe or life threatening medical emergency go to the nearest emergency room for treatment. Contact CampusCare at 312-996-4915 Option 1 as soon as possible within 48 hours to inform a representative of your medical situation and the care you have sought. After the emergency follow-up care must be provided or preauthorized by a CampusCare Health Center Physician.
