CampusCare Summer Coverage Questions

 

Students that register for Summer courses and were a member of CampusCare in the current Spring semester will automatically be enrolled and charged the CampusCare fee to their student account once their registration is complete by the University. If the student had dependents that were also enrolled in the previous semesters their dependents will also be automatically enrolled and charged to their student account once the student completes their registration for Summer courses.

 

All registered summer students have the opportunity to waive out of the program, reinstate benefits, enroll dependents or disenroll dependents by submitting the appropriate form before the enrollment change deadline.

 

Students enrolled in CampusCare for the current spring semester who do not register for the summer courses or happen to graduate in Spring may purchase summer coverage by submitting the online Summer Continuation Enrollment Form before the enrollment change deadline and paying the CampusCare fee which is billed to the student account. Dependents are NOT automatically enrolled. Students who wish to enroll dependents for summer continuation coverage must ALSO submit the Dependent Enrollment Form. These dependents must have been members in the current spring semester in order to have the summer coverage. All forms must be submitted online before the deadline in order for your coverage to continue through the summer months.

 

If you are not a CampusCare member for the current Spring semester and you also do not register for courses for the Summer you cannot complete the summer continuation form and have coverage through the summer.

 

You must either register for summer courses or be a member of CampusCare in the Spring and complete the summer continuation form to have coverage in the summer.

 

Students that are not registering for courses in the summer but continue their CampusCare coverage by completing the summer continuation form, do NOT have access to the Health Service Fee Benefits.  Please review what the Health Service Fee includes by clicking this link http://www.uic.edu/hsc/campuscare/uicpolicy.html

* If you are NOT registered for courses for Fall or Spring term, you cannot be a member of CampusCare or continue your coverage with the program and will have to find health insurance elsewhere.
