Announcement from Coventry Health Care Coventry Health Care, former parent company of Principal Health Care of Illinois, will discontinue all claims operations for Principal Health Care of Illinois as of February 28, 2002. First American Group of Companies Inc., acquired Principal Health Care of Illinois on December 1, 1998. Coverage for the Principal Health Care of Illinois membership ended November 30, 1998, and the timely filing limitation has expired. Coventry Health Care will be accepting adjustments, refunds, appeals, and other inquiries only until January 31, 2002, in preparation for a February 28, 2002 operational shutdown. Any communication received after January 31, 2002 will be returned to the submitting provider address. The Customer Service offices are available for claim status issues at 877-777-6075 only until February 28, 2002.
