CLINICAL TRIALS
There are a number of on-going clinical
trials related to cancer at the university. The Cancer Center Clinical
Trials Database contains descriptions
of the clinical trials, contact information and Principal Investigator information.
Members of the UIC Cancer Center participate in the development of new and innovative approaches for cancer therapy through national cooperative cancer research groups funded by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), pharmaceutical studies, and investigator-initiated studies. NCI cooperative research groups include the Cancer and Leukemia Group B (CLGB), Children's Oncology Group (COG), American College of Surgeons Oncology Group (ACOSOG), Gynecology Oncology Group (GOG), Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG), and the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast (NSABP). UIC also has a Minority Based Community Clinical Oncology Program (MBCCOP) funded by NCI to encourage the availability of clinical trials in the minority community.
