"Violence Prevention in Contemporary Latin American and Caribbean Societies: The UNDP Experience"

Marcela Smutt is Director, InfoSegura Regional Project, Governability and Peace Regional Cluster, the UNDP program for Latin America and the Caribbean. She is a researcher based in El Salvador and has worked for the past two decades with the United Nations Development Programme conducting research on social violence and crime in El Salvador and Central America. She is now leading a regional effort to coordinate research on this subject in Central and South America.
