Study on Experiences of Sexual Harassment of Graduate Students and University Faculty/Staff

February 3, 2017

Have you ever experienced unwanted sexual attention as a graduate student or university faculty/staff member? If so, we would like to hear about these experiences.
Sexual harassment is a serious issue in higher education affecting people of all genders, ages, ethnicities, and professions. Yet few people talk about it, so researchers have little information about the causes, consequences, and costs of sexual harassment at colleges and universities.
If you are 18 years of age or older and are currently affiliated with a higher education institution as a graduate student or faculty/staff member, go to to complete an anonymous and confidential survey conducted by researchers at the University of Illinois at Chicago. The survey will contain some sensitive questions that inquire about unwanted sexual attention and unwanted sexual behavior. However, participation is voluntary and you can skip any questions you are uncomfortable answering. Telling us about your experiences with sexual harassment in higher education will help institutions develop better responses and resources to prevent sexual harassment.
Feel free to share this announcement with others who might be interested in participating in this research.
