Message to Campus
RE Welcome for the 2011-12 academic year

I write today to welcome you to UIC for the 2011-12 academic year.

UIC is the largest university in the Chicago region. All of you, our students, faculty and staff are singularly and collectively important to our forward momentum. Working together is how we will continue to advance our missions and our contributions to our city, state, the nation and the world.

Welcome newcomers, and to our continuing community members, welcome back to one of the most vibrant institutions of learning anywhere.

As you settle into your routines I hope you will take advantage of the 2nd Annual Chancellor's Lecture and Event Series. The Series will feature a variety of lectures and presentations about challenging issues facing us as individuals and communities, cultural performances, and an exhibition on the history of Hull-House's commitment to the arts.

I hope you take the opportunity to review the schedule and join us for one or more of the events.

For further information and other news of the campus please visit my webpage.

My best wishes to all of us for an excellent 2011-2012.

Sincerely,

Paula Allen-Meares
