Message to Campus
RE Sustainability Week

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,

The 3rd Annual Sustainability Week at UIC begins Monday, September 13 and lasts through Friday, September 17. The week will be filled with activities to help our community learn more about sustainable urban living, both on campus and in our personal lives. Each day's activities are related to specific areas of sustainability such as recycling, local food, energy conservation, and more, to help us as a campus meet the goals laid out in UIC's Climate Action Plan:

The University of Illinois at Chicago is committed to environmental sustainability in all aspects of its mission and will challenge itself to consistently perform all of its functions in the most sustainable ways.
The University of Illinois at Chicago, as part of the local and global community, strives to be a responsible steward of the environment. As such, UIC seeks to minimize its environmental impact both now and in the future, consistent with the financial and social viability of the institution and the relevance of its academic programs. Through its academics, research and operations UIC will create a campus environment in which sustainable practices and policies are visible and evident to all.

Please read more information regarding the UIC Climate Action plan.

More information is online regarding all events and details surrounding UIC Sustainability week.

I hope everyone has the opportunity to enjoy and learn a little bit more about how we can contribute to a more responsible and sustainable quality of life.
