"Unfinished Business: Arts & Democracy" Exhibit

Exhibit Opens: Tuesday, September 6, 2011
Jane Addams Hull-House Museum
800 South Halsted Street, Chicago, IL 60607

Located in the Jane Addams Hull-House Museum's beautiful new upstairs gallery, this exhibit will explore the history of Hull-House's commitment to the arts and its importance in creating a more participatory democracy. The historic Hull-House opened public art galleries to create opportunities for people to make art in various kinds of media. Contemplating the arts was a simple and brilliant way to communicate cultural differences and generate common experiences. The museum will also provide art making opportunities for visitors and will include workshops on break-dancing, painting, photography, print-making and the culinary arts.
