An American Muslim of Gujarati Indian heritage, Eboo Patel is the founder and president of the Interfaith Youth Core, a Chicago-based international nonprofit that aims to promote interfaith cooperation. The author of Building the Interfaith Youth Movement: Beyond Dialogue to Action, Dr. Patel holds a doctorate in the sociology of religion from Oxford University. His blog at the Washington Post, "The Faith Divide," explores what drives faiths apart and what brings them together. He is a member of President Barack Obama's inaugural Advisory Council on Faith-Based Neighborhood Partnerships, and the recipient of the 2010 Louisville Grawemeyer Award in Religion.
