Field Instruction
Welcome to the beginning of your field instruction experience. Fieldwork is a dynamic process through which you will develop as an emergent social work professional. You will work with Jane Addams College of Social Work (JACSW) Field Faculty and Field Instructors to develop your learning goals and objectives. You will have the opportunity to integrate knowledge learned in your courses with your field experience. This will be a transformative learning experience for you.
While in your fieldwork placement, you will develop your professional identification as a social worker and begin your journey toward becoming a social work practitioner. Our mission is to nurture social work students as each learns to become a practitioner, dedicated to serving at-risk individuals, groups, families and communities.

The Field Instruction Division welcomes you, the students and Field Instructors. This is the beginning of a journey you will take with the faculty of the Jane Addams College of Social Work.
