Announcement # 1: Use of the Correct Application Forms

Applicants this year are required to complete a two-part application. The first part of the application is the online graduate application form provided by the UIC Office of Admissions and Records. Note: When beginning the application you will need to select an “Application Type”, please select the drop down box and scroll to the very bottom to choose MSW Social Work Domestic. For International students, there is a separate link. (See the Appliction Links section below for links to the domestic and international OAR applications).

The second part of the application is an electronic PDF version of the Jane Addams College MSW application form. Please use only this revised MSW application form which is available in print as well. Earlier versions of the MSW application form will not be accepted and should not be used (See the Application Links section below for Jane Addams College of Social Work Application).

Announcement # 2: Basic Skills Test Results

Applicants for the School Social Work Concentration are encouraged to submit a copy of their basic skills test results with their application. If that is not possible, applicants must submit a copy of the test results received from the Illinois Certification Testing System themselves to the College by April 15th. Do not ask the Illinois Certification Testing System to submit the test results because College often does not receive the test results or does not receive the test results before the April 15th deadline.

Announcement # 3: Minimum Admissions Requirements

All applicants are encouraged to meet the minimum admission requirements by the time they submit their applications, if that is not possible, applicants should take steps to meet the minimum requirements by the end of the spring academic term, and compliance must be documented by transcripts or other appropriate documentation no later than August 15th.

Announcement # 4: Requested Information Submission Deadline

Applicants must submit all requested information by February 28th. It is important, therefore, that individuals submitting their applications in late January or February make sure that their applications are complete. Applications that are incomplete as of March 1st will not be reviewed.
