Title: Putting Reentry in Context: Attributes of Women’s Re-entry from Incarceration Over Time

Description: This pilot, under the auspices of the Jane Addams Substance Abuse Research Collaboration, will describe a group of 15 African American women and their transition from prison to an urban community in Chicago.  Using data from in-depth and repeated personal interviews, the investigators will create life lines upon which to graphically represent the domains of experiences of sexual abuse and intimate partner violence, current and previous alcohol and drug use, stressful events, depressive episodes and suicide attempts, criminal arrests, probations, and incarcerations, housing moves since release, service utilization, and development of informal and formal social support networks.
