Title: Evaluating the Use of Private Investigative Services to Locate Missing Families in Child Protective Services Cases

Title: The Intersection of Immigration and Child Welfare: prevalence, needs and trends

Description:

This research project involves analysis of data from the National Survey of Child and Adolescent Well-Being (NSCAW) that will identify the frequency, needs and characteristics of immigrant children and families involved in the child welfare system. In addition, this project will collect and analyze data to identify the current state of child welfare policy and practice with immigrant children and families in major destination and emerging states. This information is needed to improve the quality of services to immigrant children and families in child welfare systems throughout the United States .

Title: Diversity Supplement: Development Evaluation of Prevention Effects of the SAFE Children Intervention

Description : This is a training grant that will focus on overall research and career development experiences proposed for Binta Alleyne , PhD including further development of her qualitative skill; enhancement of her skills to conceptualize, plan and execute a research study; practice writing research reports and dissemination and training to develop her experience in federal grant submission. Ms. Alleyne proposes to develop and execute a pilot study with a random sample of 30 of the children who participated in the SAFECHILDREN study to provide in-depth understanding of the circumstantial and individual influences that compromise processes of parental and peer relationship influences on adolescent substance use, intimate partner violence and secual risk.
Title: Cook Northern Region Permanency Enhance

Description:

The goal of this project is to meet with the DCFS focus group subcommittee to plan implementation of the focus group, develop IRB protocols. Conduct nine focus groups, analyze the outcomes of the focus groups and complete a report with a final presentation that represents the findings.
