NEW FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES

The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) recently released three program announcements that have been developed for the R01, R03, and R21 grant mechanisms. The purpose of the announcements is to advance understanding of public policy pertaining to alcohol as a tool for improving public health and welfare. The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has just issued a new call for proposals through its Substance Abuse Policy Research Program (SAPRP). The deadline for submission of a brief proposal (concept paper) is November 7th, 2007. Full applications for approved brief proposals will be due March 25, 2008. As in the past, award amounts for large grants can
be for up to $400,000 and applications for small grants up to $100,000 are also
