Each year, JASARC sponsors a minority scholar in the doctoral
program at Jane Addams College of Social Work. The scholarship
of up to $20,000 per year is distributed in the form of a
stipend to support qualified applicants' development
as researchers. Selection criteria include a demonstrated
interest in substance abuse research through publications
and prior involvement in funded research studies, as well
as a well-defined area of interest for future research. Applications
are accepted in August of each year. For more information,
