The mission of the Quantitative Biomedical Sciences Program at the University of Illinois Chicago is to provide biostatistical, epidemiological, and data management support throughout the research process and particularly at the proposal-writing stage. A primary mission of the program faculty is to contribute as scientific collaborators and principal investigators on extramurally funded research. Program staff strives to provide high-quality consultative services in a timely fashion.

ORS handles all pre-award and non-financial post-award activities for UIC researchers. They assist faculty and staff in proposal development, review and endorsement of proposals, submission of electronic proposals, negotiation and execution of contracts, reporting, receipt and processing of the Notice of Awards (NOA), interpretation of sponsor guidelines, and ensuring compliance with both agency and University policies. The website also contains forms and guidelines for submitting proposals, preparing budgets, and information about university research policies.
