Assessment Action Summary Report (2001)
Disparities
in Diabetes Health in Southeast Chicago
On
December 14, 2001, the Coalition held a press conference at the
South Chicago Library, 9055 S. Houston to release its community
assessment report, "Community Assessment Action Summary Report:
Disparities in Diabetes Health in Southeast Chicago". Data
in the report was collected through a telephone survey, focus groups,
public health data, an inventory of community resources and community
forums. Data collected by various government agencies was also collected
and analyzed.
Over
100 people attended the press conference and community forum. Key
findings were presented to the press. Copies of the report have
been distributed to community leaders, government officials and
members of the press. Readers who would like to request a copy can
call Cecilia Navarrete and a copy will be mailed or you can download
it from the website.
