Jens Jensen, Community, and Gardening: A Workshop with Historical and Horticultural Components

Friday, July 11, 2008

Jens Jensen, creator of the Prairie style of architecture and influential advocate for green spaces, was a friend of Jane Addams and an important Chicago reformer. Chicago Park District Historian Julia Bachrach explores his life and his beliefs in community gardening and in connecting to the natural world that produces our food.

This presentation was followed by a gardening workshop led by Catherine Murphy.
