Paul Butler on a Hip-Hop Theory of Justice

Monday, June 08, 2009

Paul Butler's book Let's Get Free: A Hip-Hop Theory of Justice is a controversial analysis of America's incarceration culture that combines Butler’s own experiences as a black prosecutor in Washington, D.C. with his understanding of hip-hop culture's critique of the criminal justice system. Butler, a former federal prosecutor and cutting-edge legal scholar, offers new perspectives on snitching, drug prohibition and how technology can improve justice.
