First awarded in 1953, the Jane Addams Children’s Book Awards honors exemplary children's literature that most effectively promote peace, social justice, world community, and gender and racial equality to young readers. Join us for the announcement of the 2013 winning books, book-making craft activity for youth, and a special presentation, “Talking about Peace and Justice with Children” by elementary school educators.
