QUALIFICATIONS:
The recruiter I is an individual with no or limited experience and training in conducting interviews in research and marketing studies. Minimum qualification will be high school. No job experience required. Before person becomes a HCHS/SOL recruiter he/she must complete training, obtain certification by the Coordinating Center , and study work experience by going to the field with a Senior Recruiter/Recruiter II.
Responsibilities
- Recruit project HCHS/SOL study participants based on eligibility criteria and following the study recruitment protocol.For eligible participants who agree to participate, arrange clinic visit, and provide study package of information.
- Keep a log of all participants recruited for immediate and long-term follow up and for future educational purposes.
- Engage in at least two follow-up contacts (telephone and/or face-to-face) to address questions and other matters, before participants visits the clinic.
- Accurately and timely complete all data requested by the project protocol and project recruitment management team (e.g., Field Supervisor/coordinator).
- Timely report to field supervisors the field needs in terms of resources (e.g., materials) and any events or problems in the field.
- Enhance the image of Project HCHC/SOL and the Northwestern University College of Medicine-Department of Preventive Medicine and the University Of Illinois at Chicago (UIC)- Midwest Latino Health Research, Training & Policy Center , in the community by maintaining a professional behavior at all times in the field & exhibiting identification card, using appropriate attire, etc.

Specific Activities
- Read and become familiarized with HCHS/SOL recruitment manual and protocol.
- Participate in orientation/training about job responsibilities, recruitment procedures, and recruitment administrative tasks.
- Complete certification within the first week of being hired.
- Be available for field work during evenings and weekends.
- Participate in Recruitment team weekly meetings at the MLHRTPC and during those visits pick up field materials and complete any pending paperwork.
- Accurately complete all related paperwork
- Complete follow up interventions as assigned by supervisor or suggested on the protocol
- Complete individual report as request by project field supervisor.
- Maintain daily communication with field supervisors regarding field work progress.
