Interests and Research
I am a biology major at UIC and will finally complete my undergrad degree
this May. I have an interest in genetics and evolutionary ecology
and will be going on to graduate school after a year.
Carrie is studying several European
and Asian species of Elymus, a group of grasses related to wheat.
She will will be doing DNA extractions followed by PCR and sequencing of
a region of the chloroplast genome. These data will help us identify
the maternal progenitor of these tetraploid species.
