Evolution
2012, at the Ottawa Convention Center in Ontario, will also be the First Joint Congress on Evolutionary Biology,
bringing together the Society for the Study of Evolution, the Society
of
Systematic Biologists, the American Society of Naturalists, the
Canadian Society for Ecology and Evolution, and the European Society
for Evolutionary Biology. July 6–10, 2012.
Botany
2012
will be held in Columbus Ohio at the Greater Columbus Convention
Center. The theme of this year’s meeting, “Botany, the Next
Generation,” focuses both on new techniques of importance to our
members, and on fostering growth and participation of student members.
Participating societies include: the American Bryological and
Lichenological Society, L’Association Botanique du Canada, American
Fern Society, American Society of Plant Taxonomists, the International
Association for Plant Taxonomy and the Botanical Society of America.
July 7–11, 2012.
(It
is very surprising that these meetings overlap - a lot people normally
go to both. Evolution 2012 is later than normal and Botany 2012 is
earlier --> crash!)
