Interests
and Research
I am an undergrad at the University
of Illinois at Chicago. I will receive my B.S. this year in Biology/Psychology
and a minor in Chemistry. My interest in genetics stems from my evolutionary
ecology course. My research in the lab focuses on Phryma leptostachya,
a species of plant located in various locations within China and North
America. My analysis
is preceded by DNA extraction, PCR
amplification of a region of the chloroplast genome, and sequencing the
PCR products to examine the genetic diversity among different populations.
