Dr. Braunschweig received a PhD from the University of Michigan in Epidemiology in 1995. Prior to earning her doctorate she was a Nutrition Specialist on the Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition Team at the University of Michigan Hospitals for 12 years. She has joint appointments in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the School of Public Health at UIC and the Department of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Dr. Braunschweig currently teaches two core undergraduate courses in clinical nutrition and a graduate course in nutritional epidemiology. She has been the major professor for 5 previous and 5 current PhD students and has directed 14 masters thesis.
