The center is located in the University of Illinois Medical Center at Chicago on 5 East and is approximately 5200sq ft.The facility includes:
  • Examination and procedure rooms
  • Outpatient area
  • Inpatient rooms
  • Specimen processing laboratory
  • Radioisotope laboratory
  • Physiology laboratory
  • Adult psychiatry beds (available on 8 East)
  • A metabolic kitchen
  • An additional laboratory
  • A database management system office.

The GCRC will make every attempt to adapt to the unique needs of each protocol. When there is a compelling reason why the research subject cannot come to the GCRC, the nursing, bionutrition, and laboratory staff are able to go to other areas of the hospital and off-site clinics.


Expansion of the GCRC

 

In addition to improving the inpatient and outpatient environment, expanded services in the GCRC include:

Increased bionutrition staff
Enhanced research laboratory functions.
Database services
Hands-on research education.
