and Child Health Bureau

DEAL MCH is designed
to advance data-based decision making within state health
departments and to build their capacity for:

public health surveillance
epidemiologic
analysis
needs assessment
program planning
& evaluation
policy development
......supporting the health of women,
infants, children, and adolescents.

Enhanced Analytic Skills Program
1997 (EASP)
An intensive one-week program designed for practicing
state-level public health professionals . The curriculum focused on state-of-the-art
methods and issues related to the collection, analysis, interpretation,
and presentation of data pertinent to the primary and special health needs
of women, infants, children, and adolescents. Due to the end of the grant
period, the last EASP was offered in June, 1997. However, we are currently
preparing self-instructional modules based on many of the EASP sessions.We
hope to have these modules available by January 1, 1998.
Consultation Service (CS)
The CS Provides access to data expertise and promotes
state-to-state technical assistance. Users
send data analysis and utilization questions via e-mail, fax, or phone.
Questions are responded to by
DEAL MCH Staff and other experts as needed.
