The lab is ...

Presently, the lab has four full-time members. The lab will meet weekly for a 'week in review' of journal articles and focus in depth on one topic. Lab meetings will be open to other groups on and off the UIC campus, and may frequently feature out-of-town guests. Graduate students will be assigned a light load of topical classics prior to arriving on campus.

Emma Goldberg, Postdoc
Emma officially joined the lab in June 2008. She is a multi-talented scientist whose arrival has set off a flurry of intellectual activity in the lab, even though she is in Chicago only part-time! When she is in town, we probably have the best dodgeball intramural team in evolutionary biology and ecology.

Boris Igic, Assistant Professor
Boris started at UIC in 2007. He spends a lot of time in cafes and libraries, usually working or reading newspapers, and biking, mostly as a means for commuting to UIC and the Field Museum (Fridays). He is an avid fan of life in Chicago, the "Miami of Canada," and also a formidable offensive and defensive dodgeball presence.

Andrew Raduski, Graduate Student
Andy is a First Year graduate student from Indiana University. He has recently picked up biking, R, and the SI bug. His dodgeball skills are unverified.
Kelly Robertson, Graduate Student
Kelly is a Second Year graduate student from California, still adjusting to the Midwestern climate, and about to be won over by a Chicago summer. Her present work is primarily concerned with breeding system evolution in Solanaceae, although it's a bit early to cut her thesis title in stone. She also has a great new bike. Dodgeball skill level unknown.
Elizabeth Boyd, Past Student
Liz left recently, but not before she helped us finish an exciting project about the distribution of breeding systems in angiosperms.
